Lifestyle | A Pre-2016 Catchup

Hello World!

Wow, I can't believe I've actually stuck to blogging for this long and I've made it to Christmas! I'm not gonna lie to you, but I thought the novelty would have well worn off by now! So this, is a little catchup post before the new year to explain what's going to be going on in 2016.

So, I'm in Year 11, and this year I have exams. A lot of exams. About 20 in total. This is gonna mean that I have a lot (and I mean a lot) of revision to do. This is also gonna mean that my blog is going to definitely fall down my list of priorities. I'm just preparing you guys for the radio silence that is more than likely going to occur for the first 6 months of next year. This makes me so sad, as these past 6 months I've worked so hard on my blog, to make it work and to get my content out there, and this feels like I'm throwing it all away. But I have a surprise planned for August 2016, exactly a year after I started blogging that you guys have to look forward to at least.

Welcome to the second installment of my Advent Extravaganza here on my blog! I'm really sorry about missing last week's upload schedule - I totally underestimated my workload! This week I'm blogging with an amazing blogger, and one of the sweetest people ever, Life-By-Becky or Becky Shannon! Her blog is absolutely gorgeous, and we actually collaborated on another post over on her blog which you can check out here! As you may have guessed by the title, this week's post is about Christmas Homeware, and some products that we'd totally love to own!

Advent | Christmas Lush Review with Chattergirl

Hello World!

Welcome to my first post of my Advent Extravaganza! This week, as you may have guessed by the title, is a Christmas Lush review of two amazing products with an equally amazing blogger! Her name is Chattergirl, and we actually started our blogs up around the same time this year. I think her blog is amazing, and I've read every post she's ever written. We're going to be reviewing one product, the Holly Golightly Bubble Bar on my blog, and we've also made a post over on her blog where we reviewed the Candy Mountain Bubble Bar which you can check out here. Anyway, on with the review!

Lifestyle | Christmas Preparations!

Hello World!

So it's November, and we're officially allowed to mention Christmas! I'm so excited and I feel like the past couple of years haven't been very festive, however it's like all those missed festivites have built up! I'm so ready for Christmas, but my bank account probably isn't!

Like many people, I struggle for presents each year, whether it's the price of the item, or just the person in general is hard to buy for! I have a few tips to help you if you're struggling to buy presents too! Also, it's really good to be prepared for Christmas early, and start during November because you definitely do NOT want to be rushing round on the week before Christmas trying to find gifts for everyone you're buying for! Trust me, I've been there and it's just added stress that you don't need.

Also, this post is going to be aimed more at teenagers and young people with a few people to buy for, not like 3 million people and the whole family.

Lifestyle | Fireworks Display

Hello World!

On Thursday I wrote a post about Bonfire Night and how I'd post some pictures of a fireworks display I was going to! I've managed to take some nice photos so I thought that I'd post them! Also, I'm really sorry if the format is different because I'm actually writing this on my phone using the Blogger app because all my photos are on my phone.

Monthly Favourites | October

Hello World!

Well, I have no idea where October has gone, and now we're into November. The only thing I can think of right now is how close we are to Christmas! October hasn't been the most exciting month, because it's consisted of a lot of revision and studying. This means I haven't been out much, but I have managed to grab a few beauty favourites from my local drugstore, Boots. I've also got a few other non-beauty related items, such as books and even a water bottle!
Also, I hope you like the new layout of my posts. Hopefully each post from now on will have a cute lil picture edited by me, however the photography is not mine!

Fashion | Autumn Wishlist

Hello World!

Welcome back to my little corner, Marshmallow Skies! I've taken a few weeks to just concentrate on my schoolwork and on myself, to try and figure out where I'm going and what content I want to post on this blog. I won't go into much detail, but I am back, and I've taken the time to write a few posts in advance so if I've got tonnes of school work to do then I won't leave you guys in the dark. Also, I'll try and let you guys know if I'm unable to upload a post over on my Twitter
Another update will be that I'll be going down to 1 post per week, so about 4 per month. I just found the schedule I made for myself really overwhelming and I think it's been the cause of me panicking about having like 3 million things to do, on top of school and being with my family and friends. Sorry if this upsets any of you, but hopefully this way, I'll be able to put much more time and effort into each post, instead of just rushing through a post to upload it as soon as I can! Hopefully, this'll be a good change, and I have a feeling it will!

Anyway, on with the post!

Latest Blog Post | A Little Update...

Hello World!

A few things have been concerning me recently, so I thought I should make a blog post to address those issues I've been going through. The first, is that I want my blog is be my happy little corner of the Internet. The place I can come and write about the things I love and the things I'm going through. However, recently, I've found myself unable to write and shrinking inside myself. I haven't been feeling happy at all recently, in fact I haven't been myself for a while now. This means I can't write the happy blog posts I want to, because I don't want to and cannot fake it. I just feel so empty and numb for no reason and I cannot simply switch into being a happy, excitable person as soon as I start writing.

Hello World!

First of all I just want to apologies for not being active for the past week. I haven't been writing, replying to comments, or commenting on other people's blogs. So it's been nearly a month since I posted my first Makeup Products I Use post! You guys seemed to like the Face Products and Eye Products so much, I decided to post about the lip products I use.

Latest Blog Post | London Adventure!

Hello World!

Wow, so this post has been a LONG time coming! I'm so sorry this has taken me so long to upload guys, it's just been compileing the pictures that's taken the longest. Also, I don't want to make excuses but I've had a lot of homework recently and exams and ugh school. But I hope you enjoy this post!

A couple of weeks ago, I took a holiday down to London, to see the sights and to spend time with my grandparents. I also used it as an excuse to take some real Instagram worthy photos because, as you may well know, I love photography. These photos were all taken on my iPhone 4S as I haven't got used to my Olympus film camera just yet!

We visited the Houses of Parliament first, however there was a photography ban throughout nearly the whole building apart from Westminster Hall and of course, the iconic symbol of London, Big Ben. This was the only place we got a real guided tour and she told us that the Houses of Parliament is also called the Palace of Westminster. Also, that the word Parliament comes from the French word "parle" - which means to speak, because the language spoken in the Houses of Parliament was French back in the day! Unfortunatley, we weren't allowed to take pictures throughout the building, so I only managed to grab a few pictures! After we visited the Houses of Parliament, we had afternoon tea by the River Thames and it was so nice, and it was a gorgeous day too!

Record of the Month | August 2015

Hello World!

So today is my first Record of the Month post, and you guys don't know how excited I've been to start writing this! The month of August has brought a lot of travelling across the country, to visit family in Norfolk and to go sightseeing in London. However, this means I haven't had time to buy any more records, but I thought I'd introduce you to my record collection for this first ever Record of the Month.

First of all, my beautiful record box, my absolute pride and joy! One of my best friends, Peri, handmade this for me for my birthday this year. Before the box, my records had been precariously leaning up against my wall, and with the amount my collection has grown since then, they would be all over the floor without it! Also, it has George Harrison on it so it's automatically one of my favourite things ever! She tried to incorporate all of my personality onto the front, and the winged eyeliner pretty much sums up my whole makeup look.

Lifestyle | When People Get Mean

Hello World!

Today, I was inspired to write a post about bullying and mean people. It's probably going to be quite short because I don't want to ramble on and I hope that I can try and help anyone of you going through bullying or just general hate.

Personally, I try to take a really happy and positive outlook on life, no matter what the situation. Say I fail a mock exam (which I did last year, oops) by getting a D. I would think, well, I can use this as a way to improve and as a motivation for next year, because I definitely don't want to feel this low again. It also helped that my teacher said that she could see that I'd revised, I just didn't answer the questions in the correct way, so well done me!

I just feel that, there is NO excuse for being mean to somebody for no reason. I don't understand how some people feel that their snarky comments will positively impact someone else life. There is no need for being mean or bullying somebody, and it is just completely unnecessary. Why would you ever want to live your life by bringing somebody else down, just to make yourself feel good, or make yourself look better?

Do You Ever Feel | Depressed

Hello World!

Okay, first thing's first, I'm so sorry I missed last week's upload. I literally have no idea where that week went. I was so busy, and had no time to sit down and write, and I'm really sorry for that, but I hope this week's Do You Ever Feel... will make it up to you, because I know you guys love this series.

This week's theme is, as you may have guessed from the title, all about Depression. This is a very heavy subject, I know, so next week I want to maybe get some happier feelings into this series, because life is about feeling down as well as up. Depression is a hard topic for me to talk about, because I have actually been through it. You may think, "Oh well, if you've been through it, you'll be able to describe and help people understand easily", well the answer to that, I can't help you understand how it feels, but I can try my best to describe it.

I'm really nervous to post this. I'm not going to lie, this is so difficult to do. I'm sat in my bedroom right now, taking a deep breath... I feel scared for writing this, like as if I'm sharing a really personal feeling, but if this post is able to help anyone out there, then that'll take away that fear. If you're out there, suffering from depression, or what you think might be depression, please, just tell somebody. Please, it's the best thing you'll do, if you have a family and friends who support you, or go to a doctor. I promise, everything will be okay.I hope that for writing this, that I'll be able to get closure and move on from this part of my life. I cannot deny that it happened and I felt this way. I need to move on past this.

Latest Blog Post | Tasting Strange Teas!

Hello World!

So, during my London Adventure a couple weeks ago (I'm planning on getting that posted as soon as possible, so please bear with me guys, I've had a crap ton of work to do for school and I've been super stressed so it's taking a while to edit photos, draft the post etc.)  I was staying in a hotel which had a load of individual tea bags with a variety of flavours. Seeing as I'm a boring person, I love just normal, English Breakfast tea or Earl Grey and they're the only tea I drink. I usually take it with milk and 2 and 1/2 sugars (or sweetener if my mother is making it). I've never tried any exciting tea flavours, apart from green tea which I've only had once and cinnamon tea which is sooooooo nice, but I decided to give some other favours a go and blog about it! So, I took a few home with me, tried a few and here is my report. (Also, this post is for future reference when I start to feel adventuourous about tea! Which is basically, don't subject your taste buds to it - they won't thank you for it!)

The Liebster Award

Hello World!

Oh my gosh, I just found out I'd been nominated three times for the Liebster Award that helps bloggers with under 200 followers/subscribers to get noticed and get their blogs out there. This is such a good award for the blogging community, because it helps bring people together, make friends and get a bigger following. I was nominated by:
Caoimhe -
Ashleigh Frances -
BrightDreamerz -

I want to thank you guys, who read my posts, take the time to comment and even to follow if you guys think I'm worthy. The fact that you guys seem to love what I write and post is just incredible, so thank you so much for that. You guys seem to relate so easily to what I'm saying and how I'm feeling, it makes me feel so much better about myself, the fact that I'm making an impact, even if it's more of a ripple than a splash in the ocean of the Internet. You guys, you share your stories in the comments, and that's something so personal, its just so brave of you to share and the fact that we're starting to make a sort of community here is well, I'm beyond happy.

Beauty | Makeup Products I Use | Part 1 - Face Products

 Hello World!

Today I thought I'd try something different and do some Beauty reviews and show you what products I use! This is going to be a 3 part series covering literally all my makeup (yep, I don't have much so guys, leave some products I need to pick up in the comments, I'm open to anything!) and this is Part 1 - Face Products. Also, some of these products I've been using for a while so they look a bit worn! And also, some of them my nan has given me because she just buys truckloads of makeup she doesn't need or doesn't like so often she gives them to me and my mum.

Latest Blog Post | New School Year, New Me

Hello World!

First thing I'd like to say is, thank you so much for 1000 pageviews! I know it sounds stupid and small compared to some people, but I really just want to thank you guys for everything you do for me. Lifestyle | A Late Night Rambling...

Hello World,

This year, I've struggled with coming to terms with the fact people actually need me, and love me and appreciate me for who I am. This isn't a coming out post, because I'm not gay, but that I'm coming to terms that I am wanted and needed in this world. I checked my snapchat this evening, flicking through the different snapchat stories and one of my friends was upset. Naturally, I sent her a message to see if she was okay. It was a day that really upset her (I don't want to share too much in case she doesn't want me to share it) and she had bad memories of it. She mentioned that the day it happened, I'd stayed up all night to talk to her and make sure she was alright, and she'd never forget the kindness I'd showed her. She said she was lucky to have a friend like me. I actually teared up reading her message. Lucky to have a friend like me, just makes me feel so...special, and needed and wanted and loved. She also said that I'm brilliantly and fabulously talented and she'd missed me over the summer. For so long, I've felt like I've just been existing and not living. People close to me, and people I don't even know that well have talked to me to ask for my advice and for someone to listen to them.

Do You Ever Feel | Anxious?

Hello World!

It's time again for the next installment of my series, Do You Ever Feel and today's topic is... Feeling Anxious. I know a lot of people out there who have to deal with anxiety and panic attacks. In this post, I'm going to explain my personal feelings of aniexty and worry and hopefully talk about how to deal with feeling anxious and how to get over panic attacks.

I think I've always been a rather anxious person, even when I was a small child. I always find myself overthinking at night, worrying about everything, my friends, my future, schoolwork, exam results, health. I get this strange feeling in the pit of my stomach which feels like I need to throw up and go to the toilet at the same time. I get all hot and sweaty and I feel as if need to get out of an enclosed space quickly. I also want to say that I've not been officially diagnosed with aniexty problems or anything because I don't really want to go to the doctor to be truthful. I do think though, that these may be panic attacks, from stories I've heard through Zoella and a friend.

Latest Blog Post | Holiday Homework Haul!

Hello World!

First of all, I want to say thank you for the great reception of my previous and first, real, proper blog post (if you haven't read it yet, you can click here to read it) about feeling left out. It actually made me really emotional to think that really, we aren't alone and that everybody goes through that horrible feeling. I also want to thank everyone who took the time to comment and share their own personal stories in the comments. It's really brave of you to do that, and I honestly really appreciate that. If anybody needs to talk about anything, my Google + is always open, even if you just need some advice about a certain situation or you just need a stranger to listen to you and get worries or problems off your mind. Thanks so much again guys, I've been made to feel really welcome in the blogging community, and it's just somewhere I feel I belong now I guess.

Also, I've decided that I'm going to post whenever I can, and whenever I feel like over these next couple of weeks towards the end of the summer holidays. I want to get as much content out there before school starts, that way you guys won't be without posts.

Anyway, on with the post!

Do You Ever Feel | Left Out?

Hello World!

I've decided on starting a new "series" of blog posts called "Do You Ever Feel..." because, I have a lot of feelings and I need to get 'em out there! Also, I want to help any of you reading this so we're not alone, which fits in quite well with this week's topic, Feeling Left Out.

I can firmly say readers, that I have felt left out many, many times. Sometimes through my own reasons, and sometimes through other people's reasons. I am the kid who never gets invited out, never goes to parties and pretty much just wraps themselves up in their bed and becomes a literal "bed burrito". I know that it shouldn't matter and really I should just be concentrating on my schoolwork, but surely school is also about socialisation too? Of course, I have friends outside of school, and a a few very close online friends, but I cannot help but crave socialisation and interaction without having to make everything happen myself. Relationships between people are a two-way-street and if I put more into the friendship or relationship than the other person I feel awkward, like that person doesn't want me around.

Latest Blog Post | Getting Over a Crush

Hello World!

Do you ever get that sinking feeling when you realise your crush probably doesn't like you? Well they might do, I mean, you've never really spoken to them, you just pass them in the corridor and think to yourself, "oh, they have quite a nice face, I quite like them". Then you realise you have a few classes with them, try to sit near them and their friends if those particular classes don't have seating plans. You try to look as adorable and as photogenic as is physically possible, when really, you look like a hot mess thats trying too hard?

This has been my life for the past couple of months. I've been obsessed with this one guy in my class for about hmm... 3 months if that? Now, looking back with hindsight, I think the only reason I liked him was because I needed to fill a space from another guy. So, I have now decided to take the brave step that is (dare I say it) Getting Over My Crush, or GOMC for short (I will probably use that acronym for any future blog posts about this, because I am a teenage girl after all).
But how does a girl go about these things? Some people may say, "you can't just get over a crush like that, you can't just decide not to like someone, because if you do then you obviously didn't like them in the first place!" To that I say, yes, yes you can get over someone, as I will now explain...

(NOTE: I'm not a psycologist or a professional "advice giver" so this post is basically what I do and what my friends have done to help me get over previous crushes)

Realisation can mean a few things such as
- They may not be the person you thought they were
- They may be different, very different, from the fictional fantasy version of them you had in your head

You may sit and daydream about your bae during science class whilst you should be learning about DNA or whatever (as you can tell I don't listen in science) but they're probably way different from what you imagine. Like in Paper Towns (SPOILERS AHEAD!!), the book opens with Quentin talking about Margo being his miracle. We place our crushes on a pedestal, making them superior to everyone else and often we forget that they're actually just normal people. We often need to realise that these crushes are more like an infactuation than true love.

Accept that you had a crush and move on
Okay, you had a crush, those feelings were cool and now it's time to move on. If the feeling of having a crush was bringing you down for example, making you nervous, overthinking and stopping yourself from doing things with your friends because "omg but what if my crush sees me? I have to look attractive 24/7!" No, no you don't have to look attractive all the time, nobody is and it's impossible. And I'm sure that even if your crush were to see you, they would probably think that you were having a great time with your friends.

TTT - Take your Time and Talk
It's okay to take time in getting over your crush. You may have thought about them for weeks, months (maybe even years idk) and just removing them from your life isn't the best thing to do. Gradually distance yourself from him or her, perhaps if you share the same friendship group it's the perfect excuse to broaden your social horizons and spread your social butterfly wings. Get yourself out there and have fun. It's also really important to talk to people and use your communication. It's no good bottling up all of your feelings and thoughts (hence why I created this very blog, so trust me, I know) so get your best friend, sit them down, and talk to them about how you feel. Or if you don't feel comfortable talking to your friends about it, write your feelings down, or tell a trusted adult in your life. You could even post in the comments below and I'll try and help you as much as I can.

You are beautiful no matter what
It doesn't matter if your crush didn't like your selfie on Instagram, or didn't like your status on Facebook. If your crush doesn't like you back then really (in my eyes) it's their loss. To whoever is reading this right now, you are a wonderful amazing human being, literally made out of stardust and I love you. It's not the end of the world if they don't like you back, you could probably do so much better than them anyway!

My question today is, how do you guys get over a crush? Post your answers in the comments down below! I've "unlocked" the comments too, so you don't need to have a Blogger or Google account to comment. Please subscribe, comment and share this blog with your friends, I'd really appreciate it!

I hope you're having an amazing day wherever you are in the world,

Lots of love,
Marshmallow Skye

Hello World!

Hello World!

So this is blogging huh? Cool. If you've randomly stumbled onto this site then, hello, thanks for coming, I have no idea how you might have found this, but thanks a lot, I appreciate it.

I don't know why I got the sudden urge to grab my laptop, turn it on, (realise it has no power so have to scramble to find and plug the charger in before it dies) find a famous blogging site and well, start blogging. I guess it might be because I need a creative outflow, or maybe it's because the internet is one of the best places to shout your opinions and thoughts and hope someone hears you.

I've decided to remain anonymous, however, because I'm so kind to you guys (well probably nobody at this stage hahaha i'm so lonelyyyyyy and I sound so desperateeee) I'm going to give you 10 facts about myself.
